So Far: Office/Guest Bedroom
Happy Tuesday! This week, I’m going to get you up to date on our progress with the house room by room.
We took possession of Casa de Richards on September 27th and moved in on November 10th. The weeks between those dates (and for several weeks after) were filled with late night after late night (and a lot of Chick-fil-A) as we tried to get the house as livable and prepared as we could. With the reality of family visits, the holidays, and general day-to-day life after move-in, our progress has slowed down significantly. Turns out, sleep is necessary to function in our day jobs and makes us more pleasant people (strange). We also have not hosted many guests because the house feels more like a construction zone than a home to be celebrated right now.
My hope in sharing these pictures is not only that you will find joy in seeing the progress, but that we would be encouraged in realizing that we have, in fact, made actual real life progress. We are not yet in the decorating phase of building our home, so this visual diary helps us see that it is indeed our home. All that said, please enjoy the transformation of my little office. This may be my favorite room of the house so far, because of all the beautiful natural light. Working from home is both a wonderful privilege and a unique challenge, and having a real-life office has made a world of difference the last few months.
